• Our group is a non-profit community service based organization. In addition to a sense of community service and well-being, there are several tangible benefits to membership.
• Neptune Township participates in the LOSAP (Length of Service Awards Program) where members of the volunteer squad earn retirement credits based on their level of participation. This money is held in a retirement account that is invested based on your direction, and is payable to you upon retirement age.
• Neptune Township has an ordinance in place that exempts members of the volunteer organizations from paying many municipal fees, like building, electrical and garage sale permits.
• Volunteers receive an “Incentive Key” which gets them discounts at many local businesses.
• Each summer, squad members receive free admission to the County Fair from the Board Of Freeholders.
• For cadet members, the New Jersey State First Aid Council offers college scholarships to cadet members.
• We work as part of the ANSWER (Area Network Shore Water Emergency Response) Team, and have participated in many large-scale rescue operations all along the NJ Coast. We were deployed to the Edison area for large fuel tank fires, and to Middlesex County for large scale hurricane flooding. Most recently, our members were deployed to Liberty State park on 9/11/01 and again to Ground Zero immediately following the terrorist attacks. Join us and become part of history.
