Squad Training Requirements
Cadet membership is open to any SRH or adjacent area
resident between the ages of 16 and 18. Regular membership is open to any
SRH or adjacent area resident over the age of 18. An online version of the
application will follow soon.
All training, CPR and EMT, are fully funded by the state of New Jersey and the Shark River Hills First Aid Squad. There is no cost to you. You can take that training and turn it in to a career opportunity. Many of our members have gone on to become paid EMTs with ambulance services and municipalities. We have members who have gone even further, and have become Paramedics and even Nurses, just from starting out as a volunteer first aider.
Anyone joining
the squad shall become CPR certified (Healthcare Provider level) and EMT
certified (or enrolled in the EMT class) within one year. Members are
responsible for maintaining their certifications, but shall bear no
financial cost for this. We also have a membership category for Associate
members. These are community members that are interested in working with
the squad on business and fund raising issues, but are not interested in
provide emergency medical care.
